task1:In the discussion about food safety, many of you wrote about the importance of washing food and proper preparation.  For this week’s discussion I would like you to look up an article to answer the question:  Can we be too clean?  To many, this may seem like a ridiculous question at first, but I think that you will come up with reasons why this question is a valid one to address.  Write at least 150 words on the subject and cite your reference(s).

In the article I read it stated that clean is good but there is certainly a way of being too clean. A child who uses to much antibacterial soap could be at a higher risk to allergens. Among adults being exposed to the chemical found in plastics, could trigger changes within the immune system which could affect everything from allergies to fighting the body diseases.  Scientist believes the overuse in hand sanitizer and the antibacterial soap has caused the immune system to become hypersensitive to foreign assaults whether it is harmful or beneficial.  Cleaning meat is not a good thing; you just want to make sure you have cooked it all the way through. I think if the food is fully cooked and it is dropped on the floor as long as it’s not been there any longer than five seconds I think it is fine. I have been doing that since I was little and I don’t have near the allergies that my younger brother does and I don’t have asthma like he does either so I think there is a way too be to clean.
