Part 1: Parent Interview

Research and analyze ‘Adult Relations in Infant-Toddler Programs and Education Programs’ by conducting an interview with the parent of a child that is enrolled in an early childhood program (infant/toddler, preschool or daycare setting). Ask the following questions:

• What type of discipline program is in place at your child’s school/early childhood center, and how effective do you feel it is?
• How well do you feel your child’s early childhood program meets his/her individual learning needs? Please explain.
• In what ways does your child’s school/early childcare center encourage parental involvement?
• How effectively does your child’s school/early childcare center communicate with parents, and how often does this communication occur?
• What types of activities is your child involved in that promotes the development of his/her social skills?
• Have you ever had to discuss an issue or concern with the caregiver or teacher, and if so, how was the issue handled?

Part 2: Teacher or Administrator Interview

Conduct an interview with a teacher or administrator of early childhood education program (infant/toddler based, preschool or daycare setting). Ask the following questions:

• What type of discipline program is in place at your school/early childhood center, and how effective do you feel it is?
• How well do you feel your early childhood program meets the individual learning needs of each child? Please explain.
• In what ways does your school/early childcare center encourage parental involvement? How well do parents participate? Why do you think this is the case?
• How effectively does your child’s school/early childcare center communicate with parents, and how often does this communication occur?
• What types of activities are planned in your school/early childcare center that promotes the development of social skills in children?
• How often do issues arise that require a conference with the parent, and how do you handle uncomfortable situations?

Part 3: Write-Up of Interview

Write a 1750 word summary paper discussing and analyzing what you learned during Part 1 and Part 2. Be sure to connect the interviewee’s responses to information and theories discussed throughout this course. Separate each section in your paper with a clear heading that allows your instructor to know which bullet you are addressing in that section of your paper. Make sure to reference five (5) citations using the APA writing style for each reference. Assignment 2……Create your Assignment submission and be sure to cite your sources, use APA style as required, check your spelling. Write a 2000 word essay describing a healthy, productive learning environment, including space, materials, learning equipment, culture and climate. Be sure to explain each of these in ample detail and include multiple examples. What limitations exist that might impact your ability to develop a quality-learning environment that meets your description? Make sure to reference three (3) citations using the APA writing style for each article. Clearly mark the headings in your paper so the professor knows exactly which topics you are discussing. Include a cover page and a reference page, which do not count towards the minimum word amount.
