How many sources do I need and of what type? You must have 5 different sources for your annotated bibliography. I will require different types of sources. They are as follows:

1.A book – one of the sources you use for your paper must be a book. It may be an electronic version, but a book nonetheless.

2.One to two journal articles – A journal article typically comes from an academic or research journal. Journal articles are lengthier than newspaper articles but much shorter than books.

3.One to two newspaper articles – These must come from reputable newspapers such as the New York Times, Wall Street Journal, Washington Post, etc.

• A primary source – A primary source can be a number of different things (a photo, letter, map, law code, painting, newspaper article from the period you are studying, etc.). You will need to locate one primary source to use for your research paper. Here, you are permitted to use a primary source that we looked at (or will look at) in class.

What citation method do I use? For the purposes of this assignment, use MLA formatting. You will list your sources in that format in alphabetical order. You can find a tutorial here: https://owl.english.purdue.edu/owl/resource/747/01/

How do I submit the assignment? You will type your sources in MLA format into a Word document. They must be listed in alphabetical order. After each source, you will include your 2-3 sentence description of the source and how you plan to use it for your paper. You will upload your Word document to Canvas, where I will grade it. (Note: If you use a Mac, you will need to export your document to a word.doc or a pdf. before uploading.)
