1. Compare and contrast the following: diffusion, osmosis, and dialysis.  Next, explain what makes each of these processes unique.  Finally, explain why it is important to understand the concepts of each passive transport processes.

2. Why are plants green? (at least 150 words)

   {Hint: We known cells are the fundamental structures of all living things. Cells of animals and plant share some similarities. How are they similar? In what ways are they different? } Also, did plants or animals evolve first? How has the relationship between plants and animals changed their reliance on one another?

3. Explain the process of photosynthesis and why it is important.  What happens during photosynthesis in areas that have a change of seasons? (at least 150 words)

4. What are the advantages of sexual versus asexual reproduction for a species? What are some of the disadvantages? (at least 150 words)

5. What are some inherited diseases and how are these diseases passed on to the offspring?  How is cancer caused by failure to control cell division?  Explain cell division. (at least 150 words)

6. There are levels of diversity from the species level and individual level, all the way down to the genetic level. Genetic diversity is crucial to the survival of most multi-cellular species. Explain why this is true and how is genetic diversity increased in a population. Give an example of a species with low genetic diversity, explain how this has occurred and the ramifications of this lack of diversity on the species’ future. (at least 150 words)

7. What does “hybrid” mean?  Explain, in your own, words how hybrid animals and plants are produced.  Also, explain why this process might be dangerous or beneficial to a hybrid. (at least 150 words).

   8.Give an example of each of the following symbiotic relationships that occur in your local environment: Predatory, Parasitic, Mutualistic and Commensalistic. For each example, predict how the elimination of one of the partners in the relationship would affect the local environment. (at least 150 words)

   9. Explain why some plants and animals are found in certain places in the word.  How is climate change affecting our lives? (at least 150 words)
