Managers at all levels have to deal with conflict in the workplace. The extent to how well conflicts are resolved depends largely on how they are addressed. Carefully review the Workplace ConflictA True Story video to determine the factors surrounding the conflict and its cause. If possible, try to view the video with another peer or co-worker in your organization. Once you have watched the video, have a brainstorming session with your peer to determine how you would resolve the conflict if you were the manager.
Imagine you have been asked to present a summary report to your supervisor regarding the incidents which led to the conflict. In your report, include the specific steps you took to resolve the issues and the impact on your employees. When preparing your report, also consider the following: What actually caused the conflict? Who was involved? Why did the conflict continue for months? What could have been done to avoid the problem?
Support your assignment with at least three scholarly resources. In addition to these specified resources, other appropriate scholarly resources, including older articles, may be included.
Length: 3-4 pages, not including title and reference pages
Your assignment should demonstrate thoughtful consideration of the ideas and concepts presented in the course by providing new thoughts and insights relating directly to this topic. Your response should reflect scholarly writing and current APA standards.
