The disease was first diagnosed 10 years ago. T. S. is a 45 year old African-American employed as a broker for a real estate firm. T. S. states that her father is alive and in good health, and that her mother has type 2 diabetes and has had a below-the-knee amputation for complications of the disease. She is 5�7� and weighs 200 pounds.
