The pros of collaborative consultation and the co-teaching are: two teachers with diverse backgrounds, two sets of expertise, double the one on one interaction, double the help for each teacher to share the load, extra help with planning, extra help with instruction, the two teacher can also better deal with issues concerning discipline and classroom management. It is the “marriage” of these skill sets that can be so beneficial, however, there could be some potential negatives most hinging on the ability of the teachers to work as a team.
