Case # 1
I feel that a person can balance research and original thought while avoiding plagiarism by doing many different things, such as, consulting with the instructor when they are not sure about something because this will help them to understand the things that they are not sure about. A person should be sure to take the time to plan their paper because this is the most important step of avoiding plagiarism. Taking effective notes would also help to avoid plagiarism as well as balance research and original thought of a person because poor not taking can lead to problems such as improper citations and misquotations. A person should also know how to paraphrase because it makes the ideas of the original source fit smoothly into their paper. And last by not least, a person should always evaluate their sources because all sources are not correct.
Smokers and non smokers are both at risk for having some health issues. Studies have shown that second hand smoke is just as deadly as the person smoking. Second hand smoke can cause sudden infant death syndrome, respiratory infections and asthma attacks in children. And in smoking adults, it has been known to cause heart diseases as well as lung cancer. According to the Center for Disease Control, “secondhand smoke contains at least 250 chemicals known to be toxic, including more than 50 that can cause cancer” (CDC, 2009). This is why banning smoking in public areas would promote a healthier lifestyle for everyone. With the government banning smoking in public it would send a strong message letting all people know that the government does care about the health of all citizens.
Case # 2
Avoiding plagiarism is very important and actually pretty simple, if you use someone else’s words cite it properly. Another way to avoid mixing your thoughts and research is to read through all the material and use your thoughts and opinions to write, you then follow by adding research and direct quotes or paraphrasing, just make sure to cite everything.Children that are in daycare also develop better socially, tend to be smarter, and end up better-rounded. “A child’s day-to-day
experiences affect the structural and functional development of his or her brain, including intelligence and
personality. Experiences influence every child’s development and learning, and these experiences can be positive or negative,
with long-term consequences for the child, family, and society” (Johnson, C., Borchers, D. A., English, K., Glassy, D., & al, e.
2005). “Studies document that, on average, children cared for in centers, as compared to homes, and have higher cognitive
test scores”. (Abner, K. S., Gordon, R. A., Kaestner, R., & Korenman, S. 2013). Better cognitive and social development
makes them a positive asset later in life when entering the work force. “Children’s experiences prior to kindergarten entry are
correlated with degree of cognitive development and school readiness as measured by standardized assessments of cognitive
and linguistic performance. Children from economically poor and undereducated families are at elevated risk for lack of school
readiness due to less knowledge and skill.” (Ramey, C. T., & Ramey, S. L. 2004). When you are brought up with working
parents you assume that is the way it is, when your parents stay at home then it is a high probability that you will stay home
to. These children will know of an environment similar to school and will do better when they start attending. They will typically
be more advanced and better behaved than children that have not been in daycare. Good quality day care during these years
is important for all children they will benefit from the formal structure of a daycare as well as the overall environment.
Case # 3
Avoiding plagiarism is very important when writing a paper. By balancing research and original thought, plagiarism can be avoided. Using quotation marks for direct quotes and accompany with in-text quotation including last name, year and the page of the paragraph number which it was taken. You need to be prepare ahead of time, separate your own thoughts from the sources to avoid plagiarism. Avoid copy and paste from the source or site. This will affect the format of the writing.
Essay
There are ways to be done and start using energy. In fact, an article was published by (Hansen, July, 2016. P30) noted. “By 2020, approximately 13 GW of new nuclear power will be ordered by electricity generators in the US according to Andy White, GE Nuclear Energy President” (2006, p 30). “A Brilliant Future: Nexus of Public Support in Nuclear technology.” White said that it will require a combination of technologies. Nuclear energy’s greatest advantage is its ability to produce large amount of electricity without harmful emissions release. Imagine how great life would be if the government will act on using nuclear energy. Americans would benefit from this. People won’t pay much on electricity bills. This might also change the prospective in life for Americans and the people around the world. If each government in every country would agree and use nuclear energy to help the countries and the people, leaders might be surprised how it will boost the economy and produce more jobs. Less stress and people could start feeling happy and satisfied. Americans can start saving money for their future vacation trip with the family or friends. America should use nuclear energy because it will help the regular people and it won’t cause harmful emissions that could affect the environment and the people. If the government would take over on nuclear power and take precautions, Americans will live.
