Classmate—(1) Being professional is doing the right thing its isn’t how you look its how you behave. you have to use ethics and morals to say you are professional. Professional people do what unprofessional people think is impossible. Being professional requires maturity, honesty and self-awareness. It often means doing what we really would rather not do. However, that is part of what it takes to distinguish oneself from others and be professional. Toby was a good person but made bad choices I think sometime we want or need something so bad we don’t take time to think of the consequences behind our action.

Classmate–(2) If I was to compare the ethical responsibilities of criminal justice professionals and businessmen like Toby Groves, I would say the responsibilities are not entirely different, therefore, my answer would be no. Reason being, as a renowned businessman, Groves have gained a certain level of respect and trust from his employees, business associates and even the regular guy he passes on the street each day in his jacket suit. Groves seemed to have believed he was above the law initially so he planned and executed how he would recruit others to help him in his scheme. He should have used the ethical-decision making process in all his doings as a businessman because even though he is an established business professional, he is still required to work within the law just as any other criminal justice professional. In addition, the criminal justice professional is also respected by the public and have also acquired a certain level of trust as well. Being that these two professionals (businessman and criminal justice professional) are viewed as upright and someone of a certain standard, it is easier for them to work on the emotions of other people that they come in contact with. It would also be easier for the professionals to ask these persons for unlawful favors because they would believe it is for a good cause, which then leads them to be blinded by the consequences and severity of what they are doing.Not only that, the businessman is also in the position to unlawfully obtain resources/properties as the criminal justice professional can. In the case of Groves, you saw where he was able to obtain fraudulent paperwork to acquire loans and properties. And in the case of the Kansas City Police Department SCORE Unit, you saw where the officers were able to use their position to unlawfully seize and stole properties as well. Even though the victims were not home, initially, neighbors and passersby saw them moving the properties but thought the officers were acting within the law. Therefore, both occupations comes with a similar level of moral and ethical responsibilities needed to be an upright individual because the actions of both professional can destroy lives.
