The final project for this course is the creation of two short essays that each examine critical approaches to literature. You will be given four literary passages to choose from, and you will pick the two passages you would like to examine. The literary passages are in the Final Project Passages document. Use the critical approach that most appeals to you to examine each passage. Choose a different approach for each passage. Use only the passage, your notes, and the textbook for your responses. You will not need to complete outside research for this assignment.

Format your project in one document using an MLA header and title. You will respond to each critical element in a well-developed paragraph for each passage. This excludes Section IV, Part C, which will only be answered once at the end of the document. See the Final Project Example document for more on this.

You may use the example document as a template if you would prefer to upload it and fill out each section in that format; however, be sure to still use traditional paragraph form with topic sentences and fully developed paragraphs with complete ideas.
