The goal of this assignment is help you locate credible secondary sources to aid your Project 2 contextual analysis. While there are many potential sources you might use for any given research assignment, not all sources are equally credible, or equally helpful. How can you evaluate whether or not a source you’ve found is a “good†one to support the rhetorical/visual analysis you’re working on? What makes the author of the source someone you can trust on the subject they are writing about? This assignment will continue to provide you with tools to help you make these decisions. Here in the Project 2 process cycle, we ask you to do this critical thinking about secondary sources *after* the rough draft is due. In the Project 1 process cycle, we asked you to do this critical thinking *before* the rough draft was due. There are advantages to both approaches; find out at which stage of the writing process secondary source research maximizes your own individual writing success.
Note: you cannot use the four sources already provided to you in the Project 2 resources area for this Secondary Source Research Assignment.
First, visit again the “Explore Research Resources†link (found as #4 under the “Writing and Research Process” module). Review the videos and tutorials as needed. Next, use the resources listed to search ASU’s library databases for reliable secondary sources for your project.
