The Universal Waste Rule was put in place to promote recycling and disposal of potentially hazardous waste that is generated in large quantities. Before the Universal Waste Rule, these wastes were managed as hazardous wastes under RCRA.

Do you think that streamlining the process and reducing requirements for these wastes still provides adequate protection to human health and the environment? Why, or why not?

By the way, for those of you who watch, or are familiar with, Hardball with Chris Matthews; we went to the same high school in Philly. He was one year ahead of me and, even then, he was a very active writer on the student publications. We were both fortunate enough to have had Mr. Tremblay for English for a few years. That teacher had a significant interest in both of our lives. Especially Chris’s because he influenced Chris to go to Boston College.

Just a little trivia. One never knows where those key influences will come from now do we.
