1.The articles, journals, and blogs that I found about changing technology in the accounting workplace seem to relay the same messages. They all agree that the main idea of technology is to improve a firm/company and the main advantage to new technology is time. Technology can do the same work that a person can do, but it can do it faster and with more accuracy. Also, a few readings that I went through mentioned certain technology that is being used and how it is helping firms and companies. The major advancement that they talked about was “the cloud”. They talked about how this can help companies access documents easily from any computer when they need it. It allows for more travel and it can allow multiple people to work on a project and share it with each other. A second technology that was used a couple of times is the Optical Character Recognition. This program can read documents for accountants by scanning them in the computer and making them easy to decipher. This will, again, save the accountant time and give them more ability to work on other tasks or do their own responsibilities better. Other information found in the different articles is different than the others, but it all seems to be useful information. By triangulating the information, I believe the accuracy of the documents I am using.

Both of my questions pertain to my proposal.I am thinking of adding in a section about how technology has shaped accounting in history as a persuasive way to propose that a company should invest in new technology. Do you think this would be effective?

Do you think the information mentioned above will be useful in conducting this proposal?

2.After reading the Chapter 14, I get the process of research: 1. Define your research subject. 2. Formulate a research question or hypothesis. 3. Develop a research methodology. 4. Collect evidence through sources. 5. Triangulate your sources. 6. Take careful notes. 7. Appraise your evidence. 8. Revise, accept, or abandon your hypothesis. The purpose of research is gather information. For the proposal, my topic is about new energy vehicles, and my research is about new energy vehicles. Triangulate your sources is a very important part. Do not only search for sources that confirm what you already believe because you will not gain a deeper understanding of the subject. After all, even when absolutely disagree with someone else, his or her argument may give you additional insight into the issue you are researching. Keep and open mind.

My research is about the new energy development situation, and the development in my country. The new energy vehicles’ development in my country is at the beginning step, therefore, there is a very great expectation in my country. The energy supplement is not a problem, because electric is the power of the new energy vehicles. One of my question is that what other information I may need to perfect my research. My second question is that my research should contain more information about the new energy vehicles market, or I need to contain more information about the related skills about new energy vehicles?

3.When graduating college and going out into the wold as a financial advisor I know it is going to be tough. One of the main concerns and complications that I am worried about and think I will have is getting clients as such a young financial advisor. I have been researching many ways on how to market myself and get myself out there and get my feet out the door. This research helps me with a proposal that my clients will be looking for rather than what I think they are looking for.

Chapter 14 talks about triangulation and how it is basically a way to help determine which sources is reliable and which are not by comparing multiple sources and collecting evidence. Being a finance major and soon to be financial advisor there is a lot of information that I am going to need to know and keep up on. Each piece of information that I am advising my clients with is what I think will help them and be the best investment decision for them. Therefore each financial advisor will be a little bit different and triangulation will help me decide what sources are reliable when I am researching for my clientele.

To be honest I am having a hard time fully understanding what is to be expected with this assignment. Do we basically just take the idea from our proposal and research it, taking sources and expanding on those for our proposal? Along with that does the information I have provided make sense in the form of a proposal? Thanks in advance for any suggestions!
