Background:

The history of society, the spoken word, and the written word are all intertwined. So how did literature evolve into the multitude of various genres which are available to reading audiences today? For example, many of you have witnessed firsthand, the breakout of Anime cinematic writing/artistry as a genre of literature. But did you know, that it was conceived in Japan in the 1960’s as a response to the animated films of Walt Disney?

Instructions for Outline:

Choose a literary genre from the List of Literary Genres and research information on the inception, evolution, and the current traits of your chosen genre. Make sure that the sources are valid and reliable.

You must use text support from at least three of your valid sources.

Create an alphanumeric outline that clearly organizes in a purposeful format, your researched information as well as text support citations.

Be sure that your outline begins with a thesis that asserts the focus of your essay.

While researching, categorize your information into three distinct areas of support. These areas should be well defined in your outlines, along with the researched information that supports them.

Make sure that the outlined section follows an alpha numeric sequence and is not comprised of bullet points nor is it written out in paragraph format. You will be graded on the format of the outline as well as its content.

This outline will transition in the next unit to a 4-5 page essay.

Requirements:

A reference page is also required.

It should also be double spaced, written in Times New Roman, in 12 point font and with 1 inch margins. Outline should conform to APA formatting and citation style.

Use the third-person, objective voice, avoiding personal pronouns such as “I,” “you,” “we,” etc.
