The Annotated Bibliography
I. Assembling Your Annotated Bibliography
For your annotated bibliography, you will need 5 peer-reviewed articles (you can add other articles
if you found other articles that can help you write a good research paper). Look at works cited lists
of the articles that interest you, conduct database searches, read abstracts of articles you find on
those databases, and decide which ones are of good quality and fit your discussion.
II. Writing the Annotated Bibliography
Write a 200-word summary for each of the 5 peer-reviewed articles (i.e. an annotation). These
summaries should not be general summaries of the whole article; and they must not be the abstract
or part of the abstract of the article. Instead, they should be short evaluative summaries that are
geared toward your topic (check the annotated bibliography handout for a sample annotation).
