TOPIC : Please explain why you are interested in being a Physician Assistant Limited to 5000 characters 1) Introduction 2)Working experience link interested in being a PA : During my 7 years as registered nurse I have experience in following setting : surgery department , GI LAB, and Emergeny room. Serving many patients, who is many underserve /vulnerable patient in ER , it trigger my interested in being a physician assistant. because as nurse i have to wait for providers order in order to treat patient , if i become a PA i would be able to treat patient right away , without long waiting for provider to respond ,so patient would suffering more , because i already become RN and exposure as clinical RN , I definitely can do more for patient . 3 ) Personal experience link interested in being a PA. basically in this body paragraph i try to express what happen to my wife, she fainted while we are eating in restaurant, I utilize my abundant RN knowledge and skill to intervene , take care my patient at the restaurant , then we meet Matt , Who is a knowledgeable , compassionate physician assistant , because this incident i feel as scope of practice as RN is limited, 4 )Shadowing experience link interested in being a PA. basically in this body paragraph i try to express it feel like fait or coincident connect me with meeting Matt again, then i shadow him over period of time, I GAIN strongly feeling and great desire to Being a PA. 5. Conclusion; PA My commitment to becoming a physician assistant is strong. All of my life experiences have led me to realize that I want to advance myself to be a part of a medical team as a physician assistant. To be able to study multiple medical specialties, diagnose, and treat would allow me to come full circle in patient care. I want to be a physician assistant because it gives me an opportunity to use my medical knowledge, nursing skills, openness to new ideas, and passion for this who need a caring and compassionate person to help them when they are most vulnerable. I have always wanted to do more. Recognizing this was beyond my expertise,began reflecting on the limitations of my position as a registered nurse even thought I have seven years experience. My position as the ER NURSE Allows me to learn how to work under conditions of limited or imperfect information and how to maintain composure under stress. ER can be quiet one minute and chaos the next.We work in a chaotic environment of ringing alarms, yelling patients, ringing phones, overhead paging. Emergency nurses must be ready to respond in a moments notice and think on their feet because in the emergency room every patient experience is unique and every second counts. Some patient arrives emergency room with life threating condition, other hand some patients come to ER for routine check up. I see so many underserve patient , no access to health care , therefore , they have to come in to ER for their routine check up which can can be done at primary clinic. Working along side with pA , those pA show medical knowledgeable, compassionate, caring, able to intervene helping more patient. Due to limitation scope of practice for registered nurses, I feel that I retrain my capability to provide better service and better patient care. I will be able to balance medicine practice and patient care reducing the time patients have to spend in the waiting room. My personal and professional experiences have taught me a lot about the importance of patient-centered care. I strive to become a physician assistant, so I can even be more effective to assess, order tests, interpret lab values, diagnose, and provide anticipatory
