The tower of Babel story is concerned with the ambition of the people for self-security and Yahweh’s intervention to stop them. From Adam and Eve to the Tower of Babel story, we are confronted with the tragic reality of sin. But the primeval history does not explain how sin came to be as much as it shows the effects of sin.
Your Task: Describe two effects of sin in Genesis 1-11. Make sure that you indicate the chapter and verse for each effect that you describe.
(2) Take heed now, for the Lord has chosen you to build a house as the sanctuary; be strong, and act (1 Chronicles 28:10).
Question: How does this scripture inform your ministry?
(3) In Jeremiah 31:31-32, God promises to make a new covenant with the house of Israel and the house Judah. This covenant will not be like the earlier (Sinai) covenant.
In Jeremiah 31:33, God gives some detailed description of what the new covenant will be like.
Questions: 1. What is “new” about the new covenant?
2. Explain briefly the “new” things that you have mentioned in 1 above.
